Oops!!  It has been a whole year since my last post!  A lot has changed!  

But this post is about Owen!!!

Sunday August 24, 2014 was a very special day.  Owen was ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood.  It was a wonderful day we attended the Silvergate Park ward for the last time before our move to Fort Worth, Texas.  Owen was ordained at the end of the block.  We are so grateful for the family who made the time to come and share this with Owen.  He felt very loved. 

Owen is such a great kid.  He still loves Legos, but this summer he also enjoyed drum lessons and being on a baseball team.  Being the oldest his younger sibling look up to him a lot, probably more than he would like! :)  Owen is starting middle school in Texas this year and is excited about the extra independence he will get.  But even more he is looking for ward to the tablet he will be issued!

Kate has a bit of (ok. . . a huge) crush on one of Nick's young men, Clark Flemming!  She loves spending time with him and obviously acting goofy!  He is such a good sport. :)

 We are going to miss Clark.  The kids have sure looked up to him and we have loved getting to know him and his family better thru spending Family Nights together.

Today, Sunday September 7, 2014 Owen passed the Sacrament for the first time!!!  What an amazing thing that was to watch.  I kept thinking of the last supper and how even at the age of 12 Owen is able  to follow the Saviors example so closely and what a blessing it is to have 2 priesthood holders in our home.  My handsome boy is growing up!!

School is HERE!!!

First day of school!!  (August 7, 2013)

Owen is starting 5th grade.

Corbin is starting 3rd grade.

 He got a bloody nose on the bus ride home!  (At least it wasn't on the ride to school!)

The boys are super excited to have their cousin Mason ride the bus with them.  They were also excited to have the same bus driver, Jordan, from last year.  He is good to the kids!  

I think they were all looking forward to this new school year.  We had father's blessings the night before.  What a treat to hear all the neat blessing in store for my cute boys.

Douglas, AZ

We decided to take a quick 24 hour trip to Douglas, AZ to see Grandma and Grandpa Merrill!  

It was our first road trip as a whole family!

While we were driving Kate kept saying look at those piles.  We finally realized that she was talking about the mountains in the distance.  That is my Arizona girl!!!

Kate had a rough time sleeping - sharing a room!  For naptime she got her own room.  I set up the bed for her.  But she had something else in mind. . . 

She slept in the tight space between the bed and the wall.  Lucky for me it was a great nap (except for the part when I had to wake her up to head home.)

We had a great time.  Kate looks like the outcast - not too happy about getting woke up.  At least she is standing there!

 On the way home we took a break and walked around Tombstone.

The trip went really well.  Carson traveled like a champ!

Birthday at the Park

My sister, Corinne, arranged to have all of us to meet at the park to celebrate the birthdays that occurred in our family from January to March.

 My other sister, Shelly, made a cute doll cake for the little girls!

 Aunt Corinne taught Kate how to blow bubbles.  She has a new favorite!

 It was fun to get together and see everyone.  I can't believe how big our numbers our getting!  The kids loved spending time with their cousins!  What an amazing family I married into!

Because Carson was breach, they were worried about hip development so they did an ultrasound just to be sure.  He sure looked cute in this huge bed.  And his hips look good!

 We are placing bets to see who will fill in first!  Carson's head of hair or our backyard grass!  

We are hoping both will be plentiful by Thanksgiving.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun. . .

I have been trying to get Kate to wear her hair in different ways.  To accomplish that I wear my hair the same way.  She has been adding her own pizzazz!
