Visitors!

Today we had our first visit from friends in New Jersey. Erin and Tyler Wittwer recently accepted a job at Toys 'R Us in Wayne, NJ, and were in town this week looking for housing. We had lunch at a little pizzeria in a neighborhood near Newark and then they took off for home, but they'll be back! We are so excited to have old friends nearby, and we look forward to doing some fun things with them before we leave for Puerto Rico in January. Nick and Tyler already committed to taking Erin and I to Wicked in September.

Owen and Corbin were very excited to hang out with their old buddy Jackson.

5 Months!!

We cannot believe Jaren is 5 months already! He is such a happy baby! We love making him smile and watching him explore the world around him.Jaren has begun rolling multiple times. We leave the room for just a few minutes and hear him whimper because he has gotten himself stuck under the couch, table or even wedged against a wall. We are headed into the wonderful world of babyproofing our house!
He has also started kind of sitting up. He does pretty well if there is a toy between his legs. When he loses focus he does a cute "timber" thing!

Philadelphia Zoo

We ran into some old friends, the Pearsons, from our BYU days. They have a zoo pass and invited the boys and I to the Philadelphia Zoo. The boys had a wonderful time! Their favorite part was seeing the snakes, bats and "all the fierce animals" (as Owen would say).
Here is Cody, Corbin, and Owen! Cody was the zoo expert and acted as our guide, telling us what was next on the list!
These are the naked mole rats. They were pretty cute and fun to watch!
My favorite part was the monkeys, especially the two I got to take home!
Thanks Rebecca! We had a great time and enjoyed catching up!

NYC (Last month - better late than never)

Our family took a trip into New York City on Saturday last month (June 28, 2008). I was able to go to the temple while Nick took the boys to Central Park. Afterwards we walked through the park to The Museum of Natural History. The boys loved seeing all the exhibits and comparing it to the movie "Night at the Museum." Just as we were leaving NYC it started pouring out of nowhere. We were really lucky our day was already over!

Owen and Corbin we so excited to see "Rexy"!
Finding "Dum Dum" was a must. It was the only time we could get the boys to hold still long enough to take a family picture.

Mommy Salon

Nick has been in Puerto Rico this week for work. (Can you tell, I have made three blog entries this week!) The boys have been taking good care of me. Today they did my hair. They said that I looked like a Dragon, they were quick to add, a beautiful girl Dragon (Nick has taught them well!) The hair claws are my scales. While they were doing my hair I asked if they wanted to have a movie night. They got excited and asked if we could watch Star Wars. Then they asked if I could please where my hair like Princess Leia's! This was the best I could do (especially since I haven't seen the movie in awhile)!

Pippi Longstocking and The Brady Bunch

So what does Pippi Longstocking and The Brady Bunch look like?

Apparently me!
I took my three boys to dinner last night. On the way out of the restaurant a lady started laughing and said, "You look like you just stepped out of a fairy tale, Pippi Longstocking!" (I personally would have preferred Cinderella.) Then as she passed and saw the tree boys, she said, ". . .and The Brady Bunch." I just laughed! Am I getting too old for braids?

A glimps of Heaven

Nick and Owen (5 years old) were talking about heaven. Owen said that when he dies he is going to take his Legos with him. Nick told him that when we go to heaven we can't take anything with us. Shocked Owen said, "What? So you have to buy all new stuff when you get there?"

Brothers

There is a pop up fountain close by, and the boys had a blast running and getting wet.
Showing off their muscles!
Look closely at Corbin's feet. He was having a little too much fun in my closet!
After he took my nylons off he put them on his hands as gloves, silly boy!
Jaren has been such a good baby, we are so blessed. He has been rolling over for a month now and loves it when his brothers take time to talk and play with.Jaren was sleeping on the floor until we borrowed a crib. I wasn't able to get to him right away, so I sent Corbin up to help him. When I got up there Corbin was telling Jaren stories.
Best buddies
Where is Jaren? Jaren is mommy's little helper at dinner time.
The boys were playing with Jaren.
He has been doing the funniest thing. He really wants to sit up, so he does these crunches. We call him our yoga baby! (It is hard to tell from this angle.) He has really good form.
