Washington DC

Nick's Aunt Laura and Uncle Kimo live in DC and we were able to go and visit them. We had a great time catching up and seeing the sites.
Lincoln Memorial
Museum of Natural History with Hannah and Ethan! Nick's favorite exhibit was the swordfish.
They had live bugs you could hold. Here is Corbin with a caterpillar.
We had a picnic on the National Mall. The boys loved running around playing with their cousins.
My uncle Allen L. Faler (my Dad's brother) died in Vietnam. We were able to look up and find his name on the Vietnam Memorial. It was a really special feeling being there.

This weekend we were able to go to Ethan's baptism. Nick's Aunt Lisa was also able to come all the way from Utah as well. It was wonderful being near family.
Yes, we took this picture. On the way home we stopped by the Mormon temple in Washington, D.C. temple. It was beautiful.
This is a view from the freeway, wow!
The ride home. Ya think we need to replace the dollar store headphones? Maybe.
Jaren is supposed to be sleeping. Peek-a-boo!
Thanks Aunt Larua and Uncle Kimo for being so great!

Happy Birthday Owen!

Owen is six! He decided on having a Star Wars birthday party. We had a great time with 4 of his friends playing games and of course eating Darth Vader with a side of ice cream.

As a bonus Corbin was lucky enough to get a couple presents too.

Update: 4 Staples, 1 Tick, A Lot of Blueberries, and A Bouquet of Flowers

Corbin is officially our "accident prone" child. He has had 3 head injuries in the last 6 months. His most recent one, from an incident where he bounced off his bed head first into his nightstand on Monday night, landed him with 4 staples. He wears them proudly!
The boys love making forts and Corbin loves hiding in them.
Jaren is getting so fun! We think he will be crawling by the end of the month! He scoots and rolls all over the place. We have had to keep an eye on everything we keep on the floor they all become chew toys: shoes, legos, books, etc.
Jaren is almost too big for his Bumbo. He looks so big, but I love his chubby thighs!
Last night the boys went to Chuck E. Cheese to spend their tokens they earned while Nick was in Puerto Rico last week. They had a great time!
The library had a contest for the summer reading program the theme is "Catch the bug!" The boys made this lady bug! (Even though they didn't win, it was lots of fun.)
When Nick was out of town, Owen made a "camp out" in his closet. When I went to check on him and found him asleep nice and cozy.
The boys attended a summer camp this past week. It was a great break for me and the boys had a blast! We aren't sure where it came from, but I pulled a tick off of Owen's leg as he was getting into his pajamas one night last week. It took several attempts pry this yucky tick off him. We were really lucky that it hadn't "burrowed" yet! Gross!
A local farm has a "read and pick" event. They read a couple books and then the kids get to pick the fruit that is in season.
They had a great time picking blueberries -and they had even more fun eating them!
I love the matching head tilt!
The end of July was tough, given our move down the street and everything else that's been happening around here. Despite all this, Nick was still able to buy me some freshly picked flowers. Isn't he sweet?

Howell Living Farm

This Saturday we went to Howell Farm with some friends, the Smiths. The boys had a great time seeing all the animals and being with friends. They even got to take a wagon ride pulled by a goat!
The boys were amazed when they watched this sheep get sheered.
This is what Jaren thought of the sheep! Not that impressive to him.

We got a kick out of this animal. Definitely the weirdest looking one there.
