Just a week after our trip to Provo, Nick and Owen went camping with the rest of the Winward men in northern Arizona on the Mogollon Rim. They were surprised to find it quite cold, with even a little snow on the ground. They roughed it like pioneer men, however, using only inflatable mattresses, wool socks, blankets, expensive sleeping bags, a large tent, and an early morning "meeting" in the pickup cab to warm up their frozen bodies. We are so proud of them.

They did get into a bit of trouble, however. It turns out they decided to start shooting the potato cannon straight into the air after breakfast. Nobody from the group seems to claim conceiving that idea. Anyway, after a few incredibly powerful shots into the clouds, one potato landed directly on the hood of an innocent camper's SUV. Amazingly, no damage was visible, but the guys decided to take a break from their "idea" and go shoot some real guns. We are so glad they didn't shoot their real ammo straight up in the air.
