Friends: Play dates, Baptism, and Beach!

Our little nerd - or smarty pants!
We had some friends over for a playdate. All the shoes ended up lined at the door, and I thought it was really cute, so I took a picture. (The left side is our boys and the right is the friends.)
Elie was such a little mommy and took good care of her little sister while they were here!
It was fun having girls in the house.
Jaren loved being in the hammock with Luke.
Corbin thinks it is awesome that his best friend is named after Luke Skywalker!
(Although I'm not sure if his parents had that in mind when they named him)
We had another little friend come visit us the other night. I thought he was really cute and wanted to keep him, but we let him go outside. He was not easy to catch - very small and a great jumper.

We attended the baptism of one of our friends' in the ocean. This is just down the street from our neighborhood. It's a beautiful spot. It was sprinkling just enough that we were the only ones on the beach. We did the baptism and then went to their home for the confirmation.
The boys were really excited that we got to be there.
We had enrichment this past week. They did an exchange and I scored a really cute monkey suit that Jaren can use for Halloween. So now we are totally ready for October 31, which is just too far away - according to Corbin. Owen and Corbin are excited to be GI-Joe characters.
On Labor Day, a large number of families from the ward went to the beach near Dorado. There are some beautiful beaches there, and we were lucky enough to find a small, secluded one that was almost completely empty. It was beautiful, and we had a great time. Here are some photos.
Doesn't Corbin look great!
Jaren is always super happy to be at the beach, UNTIL. . .
...we take him close to the water. He screams his little head off and claws to get back to the safety of the beach chairs and shade. Doesn't he realize we live on an island?
Poor guy!
But now he is happy!
The boys got to boogie board and Nick was able to do some snorkeling.
The area we went to is called Horseshoe Beach, a very appropriate name.
Here is a picture from each side.
Jaren's first time with Cheetos. Hello!

Owen's Birthday

(This update is for you Shelly!)
Happy Birthday Owen!!!
Owen turned the big SEVEN this last month and requested a GI-JOE party. We decided to have a fun family party this year. So, of course, the first Sunday after telling Owen that he goes to primary and says to his class, "My birthday is coming and my mom said that none of you are invited!" Nice.

Owen could hardly wait for the day to begin so we decided that he could open two presents before Nick went to work.

Corbin was shocked when we said that he got a present too! Star Wars shirts, sorry Jaren they didn't have your size.
We got some army things to celebrate.
Owen decided he wanted a tank cake. It was quite a challenge making it in here (in Puerto Rico) everything kept melting and our kitchen AC hadn't been fixed yet. (Not to worry, it is all better now and we are loving it!)
I let Owen pick out where the candles went. I love the one in the cannon!
Owen loves legos, I am talking LOVES them. He was so excited to get four sets for his birthday. I love how excited he and Corbin look in this picture opening the Indiana Jones set.
We let Owen stay up and put some of the airplane together with Nick. In the morning he finished putting it together all by himself. We were really impressed!
Happy Birthday, Owen! We love you so much!
