Girls just want to have fun!

Last weekend I went on a much needed girls retreat!
A group of girl from our ward went to Aguadilla, PR (about a 3 hour drive) and stayed in Coast Guard housing. It was really nice and we got to crank the AC!
We had a fancy dinner at Eclipse, a Puerto Rican restaurant. It was in a tourist area, so it was weird and fun to hear other English conversations going on around us.
(Becca, Maddy, Brianna, Heather, and Jackie)
Our waiter was the same one they had a year ago (before we moved here). He brought us a free appetizer. The dip in the middle is hummus. It was yummy!

We all ended up ordering something different and got to sample each others. I got a chicken tortellini dish with alfredo sauce. It was delicious!
Jackie was sweet enough to give everyone their own personalized pedicure.
I think she should start a business!
I love french pedicures and the cute flower she put on my big toe!
The next day we checked out the local swap meet. We found some pretty cool pairs of glasses!
We were hoping and prepared to hang out at the beach, but it rained on and off the whole weekend. Despite the rain (which normally makes it humid and sticky), Saturday was the first time since we moved to Puerto Rico that I wasn't hot and sweaty at ALL the whole day!

Along our drive we found this cool tunnel thing and couldn't resist a picture.
The weekend was perfect. It was such a treat to stay up late talking and laughing! Mom's need a break every once in awhile.

Whenever Nick comes home from work he gets a grand reunion from the boys, with hugs and excitement. It was fun coming home to these cute little boys and getting a similar response. Jaren was jumping up and down and gave me a huge hug and kept taking my hand and saying, "hmeare." (come here) Corbin gave me a huge hug complete with his hanging on my leg. And Owen gave me a hug and wanted to see the pictures that I had taken.

To celebrate my arrival we went to dinner at Paya (no cooking for me)! Corbin said that this was the most awesome day he had ever had. Then he was quick to ask if I would ever go out again with my friends. Apparently, the boys needed a break from mommy too!

Maddy, that sounds like such a wonderful retreat. I am jealous. I have to admit that one of things I miss the most about working is coming home and having my kids be so excited to see me. The Dad's don't realize what a good thing they've got sometimes. And your toes look so darling. You are brave to put a picture of your toes online (they are beautiful toes, don't get me wrong) but I could NEVER do that, because mine are anything but beautiful. And you look so cute as super prego as you are.

What a fun trip! Looks like we were both having girl weekends at the same time. So fun! Just what a mom needs now and again. I can't believe that huge lizard was in your backyard. Scary. And I noticed your workout log. You go girl! That's so great that you run 4 miles.

It was a fun trip and very needed. I can't think of the last time I stayed up until 3:30 in the morning, not with a child:)
