Saturday was an adventure filled day! First we went to the beach, then home for a quick nap and then off to dinner at one of Nick's co-workers' homes.
For our first time at the beach we decided to try out the local one that is across the street from our community. Here are my boys at the beach.

Jaren wasn't too impressed with the water. He spent his time playing in the sand and trying to steal other peoples beach balls. Next time we will bring one for him!

We tried to keep him protected from the sun, but he would only keep the hat on until he thought I wasn't looking.

I tried to get Jaren used to the waves. But he wasn't too happy and would never let go of my shorts.

The boys made a "mud" castle. They would run into the water and scoop of handfuls of wet sand and stack it. Pretty fancy!

We had to wake up Jaren from his nap to go to Nick's coworker's house for dinner. This is how we found him. We have raised him well, he must have fallen asleep saying his prayers. I love his little tucked feet!

Lorraine Martinez, one of Nick's coworkers invited us up to her house. She and her husband, Hernando, have three beautiful girls almost the same ages as our boys. The boys had a great time, even though the communication was limited to parental translation. Hernando made us a genuine Venezuelan barbecue complete with three different kinds of meat, fried yuca, baked potatoes, and some amazing salsa. It was really really good. After dinner before dessert we took a walk in their community to feed the ducks.

We visited their community pond, which had the ducks, some turtles, big fish, which all quickly ate the bread that the kids threw at them. It was pretty cool. Jaren kept on eating the bread for the ducks, though. I guess he doesn't know that stale and moldy translates to "unedible."

The boys were so tired on the way home they crashed!

As a side note, we have these cool frogs in our back yard at night. We had two the other night that we think were in a protective mode and didn't care how close we got to them (we didn't actually touch them).

Isn't he cute?

These are my little "nerds"! Nick was teaching the boys how to dress and walk like nerds. Owen picked up the walking pretty fast. Corbin was giggling too much to focus!
(And yes, the jug Jaren is carrying is empty. He is super in lots of ways, but doesn't have super strength!)
