Christmas Vacation Randomness (5 of 5)

Our Christmas vacation was so wonderful! It was fun being around family again. Both boys on more than one occasion asked if we could move back here. Corbin wanted to go back to our old house. We are grateful that both of our families live so close together!

The boys got to ride their bikes we left when we moved. The loved it! They were so excited as we pulled them out of the attic, and even more disappointed that they couldn't ride them till Monday!
Brother Love!
Jaren having too much fun with Daddy!
Corbin got a bird house for his birthday. He loved painting it. Doesn't he look cute in his apron!
I gave Corbin a pair of pants to put on, not realizing that they were mine. He was so into the movie he was watching he didn't notice either. Nick and I were rolling by the time he looked down and said, "Hey these don't fit me!"
Jaren has been eating more real food and it shows!
Nick's parents have 2 sets of stairs. It didn't talk long for him to figure out a way around them!
This set of stairs took more effort. He would wedge his body between two chairs and wiggle until he made a big enough separation to sneak through. The first time he did it I hear Corbin (in his baby voice) saying, "How did you get half way up the stairs!"
Nick's parents also have a cool laundry shoot. So far the boys haven't put themselves down it, but they did enjoy it as a hiding place and passed toys to each other.

Jaren loved having the extra space to roam and play. I love his little feet sticking out!
We got passport for the boys while we were there. This is one attempt at a picture for Jaren. He looks like a cool teenager!
We loved our time in AZ. The weather was awesome and it was fun to see everyone and get a break! Nick and I even got to get away for a night and spend some much needed "kid free" time!

Golden Canyon, Rockets, and Family (4 of 5)

This Chinese restaurant, Golden Canyon, has ruined me! It is so yummy that it is hard to find its equal in New Jersey!
For Christmas Nick got a rocket. One morning we went to Freestone park and launched them with Grandpa Faler!
Getting set up.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Blast off!
The boys got to run get the rocket shells.
I love this picture of Nick and Corbin walking hand in hand!
In October my sister Shelly had her second son, Noah. He is a cutie! (Noah and Aunt Maddy)
Aunt Shelly and Jaren being silly.
Jaren playing cars with cousin Mason.
Corbin, Grandma Carol, and Owen.
Jaren and Corbin taking a break with Uncle Allen and Uncle Nathan.
Jaren loves carrying things in his mouth for long periods of time. We got a kick out of this one.
Jaren's first piano lesson! Thank you Aunt Erica and Uncle Nathan.
Christmas Eve when we got back from the Faler party, the boys crashed and cuddled with Uncle Randy and watched the rest of Muppet Christmas Carol.
Uncle Randy and the boys!

Corbin's Birthday in NJ and AZ (3 of 5)

Happy Birthday, Corbin!!!! Four years old!!!
Corbin wanted a Star Wars birthday just like his older brother. He decided on a blue light saber cake, after I talked him out of a Luke Skywalker cake.
We had some ward friends over to celebrate before we left for our Arizona vacation.
We were able to play games, and color Star Wars pictures to display.
On his birthday (in Arizona) we went with Haley and met my sister, Corinne, at Amazing Jakes. The boys loved eating pizza and watching Shrek the third.

The boys took turns riding with Haley in the go carts.
They rode on the Hopper!
Owens turn!
Corbin and Madison!

Aunt Corinne and Amber!
Owen, Truman, and Tanner!
That evening we had cupcakes at Grandma and Grandpa Wiwnard's
Happy Birthday, little man!

Nate's Sprinkle and Visiting Rosa (2 of 5)

Let me explain what a Sprinkle is and who Nate is. My cute little sister, Maryann, is getting married in March to . . . Nate Cook. And a Sprinkle is a grooms version of a bridal shower. When my bother Nathan (this is going to be confusing) got married his in laws threw him a sprinkle. It was so fun that my family decided to do it as well!

Maryann and Nate, the happy couple!
The funnest part of the evening was when Nate had to answer questions about Maryann. If he got them right he got. . . a kiss.
If he got the answer wrong. . . he got sprayed (or at least he was supposed to. Maryann did want to get him wet, so she sprayed the wall behind him, chicken!)
The last two questions are the same at every Sprinkle. Who impressed you the most when you first met: Maryann or her Dad? Before he answers my dad pulled out his Super Soaker. (The right answer is of course is her Dad.) The final question is: Who is your favorite brother in law? Before he answers all the brother in laws pull out their Super Soakers or Nerf gun! (Not sure what the right answer is.)

Grandma and Grandpa Hopkins left the next morning.
So did Uncle Allen.
When we go to Arizona we always stop in and see Rosa. She is the boys Latin Grandma! She owns a dry cleaners and the boys love playing in the back. (As a side note: Today, in New Jersey, we went to Staples and the boys found a pin and said this belongs to Rosa!)
The boys had fun being swung by Manuel.
Rosa even got a dance with Owen.

Christmas and Douglas (1 of 5)

Christmas Eve we had our traditional Faler family party. Our family is getting so big that we had it in the relief society room of a church building. Owen was really looking forward to being Joseph in the nativity and took his role very seriously!
(Corbin and Joshua Ellsworth were shepards. Truman, Tanner and Parker Ward were the three kings. Abby Ellsworth and Madison Ward were angels. Owen and Amelia Ellsworth were Joseph and Mary. Noah Huber was baby Jesus. Not in the picture was Mason Huber and Amber Ward (shepards) and Cami Ellsworth (angel).)

Because we went to Arizona for two weeks during Christmas we celebrated Christmas at our house on the 21st. Santa was even kind enough to come early! This year we didn't have a Christmas tree. I was actually surprised that the boys didn't mind. Just before putting the boys to bed on the 20th our friends brought an edible tree as a gift. When the boys saw it they said excitedly, "That can be our Christmas tree!" Worked for me! Thank you Falks for the tree!
The boys got GIJOE action figures from Nick. Nick of course had them when he was a kid.
Jaren liked anything he could fit in his mouth!
We flew to Arizona on the 23rd. Our flight was delayed. Jaren was very active and only slept about 20 min of the 5+ hour flight. Owen threw up (luckily he is old enough to make it into the bag)! We were worn out when we landed, but grateful that we didn't have a screaming baby!

Christmas morning we asked the boys to get into their clothes before we went down stairs. Corbin (our boy that loves to stay in his jammies all day) refused to change. We told him that he couldn't open presents till he was dressed. He looked confused and said, "I already opened all my presents in New Jersey." We told him that Grandma and Grandpa probably had a present for him. He was in his clothes in no time!

The boys got Nacho Libre hoods from Grandma and Grandpa.
Don't Grandpa Winward and Owen look feirce!
I didn't realize this picture was tiped, oh well. Jaren was really cute to watch open presents. He would stop opening if anyone tried to help.
Aunt Haley made Jaren a really soft blanket. I even had fun cuddling in it!
That afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpa Faler's. The boys gave Uncle Allen a nerf ball gun that came in handy later that week!
The boys got a new Lego set. Of course Uncle Nathan had to help put it together!
Christmas evening we played a game called Ticket to Ride. Nick won 3 of the 4 games he played over our vacation.
The day after Christmas Nick, Owen and Corbin along with the Winwards headed to Douglas. I stayed behind to spend time with my Grandparents and brother Allen who were visiting from Idaho and Utah.

Nick and Grandma Merrill.
The boys had a blast playing with their cousins from Texas. Corbin and the little girl, Kate quickly became great buddies!
Just before they left to head beck to Tempe they ate at a cafe that wasn't quiet ready for a group this big. It took an hour to get them their food and they even ran out of things!

The day they left I got a call from Wendy's in Benson telling me that Owen had left his jacket there. His name and number were in the jacket. Owen got a transformer hoody out of the trip! They had a great time in Douglas.
